I thought you would stay here. 처럼 주절이 과거이면 종속절은 과거 이하가 되어야 한다는 점 때문에 이런 질문을 하시는 것 같네요.

I think the sequence of the tenses is wrong in this sentence.

In this sentence, the first part is written in the past tense, and the ending part is written in the future tense. Because of the tense disagreement, this sentence is not correct.
